Internet Find Friday

I'm starting a new series called "Internet Find Friday," collecting some of my favorite things I've found on the Internet over the course of the week.

1. Still elated that I got Gatsby Leo on Zimbio's "Which Leo di Caprio Character Are You?" quiz. (www.zimbio.com)

2. If you haven't checked out the youtube Superfruit, which is run by two of the guys from Pentatonix, you need to. Start with this perfect rendition of Defying Gravity. (www.youtube.com)

3. Charles Worthington showed how to recreate Samantha Bark's beautiful braided updo for the BAFTAs. (www.luckymag.com)

4. This super cool website gives you book suggestions based on recent books you've read and loved. (http://www.whatshouldireadnext.com/)

5. I've been wanting to go back to Paris so much lately and this "13 Things I Discovered About Paris" is making me want to go even more. (www.thoughtcatalog.com)

6. I'm fascinated by this "25 Best Cities for Young People to Live In" article. Should I go ahead and move to Scandinavia? (www.list25.com)

7. Postmodern Jukebox is the best thing to ever happen, pretty much. My friends and I can't stop listening to this cover of "We Can't Stop." (www.youtube.com)

8. Not going to lie, I'm obsessed with these pants I bought recently. (www.forever21.com)

9. The Buzzfeed "Who's Your Disney Sidekick Quiz" is seriously the best thing ever. I got Pascal, which is wildly accurate because I got Rapunzel on the "Which Disney Princess are You?" quiz and Flynn Rider on the "Which Disney Prince is Your Soulmate?" quiz. (www.buzzfeed.com)

Delays Due to Snow...

Hi everyone! I know I haven't posted anything lately...I'm blaming the polar vortex. School shut down Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday and therefore, I accomplished absolutely nothing. However, I promise that will change soon!

Look, I swear, it was because of the snow.
Me and my best girls enjoying the rare snow!
In the meantime, here's my #ootd for this lovely 60 degree day :)
I'm absolutely in love with these pants.

Have a great Thursday!

Newly Purchased

I went shopping at the mall last week and had a terrible day...went to many stores, but found absolutely nothing. Then, I was running errands with Mom and went into Target to grab some groceries...and found great clothes!

I'm absolutely in love with this top. You'll probably be seeing it again. Soon. (I can't believe it was just $20!)
I've been searching for faux-leather leggings for three or four months now and hadn't found any that I was satisfied with...leave it to Target to have the perfect pair for just $20.

And then I found this adorable dress. It makes me feel like Taylor Swift when I wear it! I can't wait to wear it in the spring with my Madewell booties and new J. Crew jean vest. Perfection.
Confession time: I liked it so much...I got it in the daisy print too. Oops?

I hope everyone's having a great week so far! It's hard getting used to waking up earlier after being home for Christmas! How're your New Years Resolutions going? I still haven't figured mine out yet...

All pictures are from Target's website.

Early January Outfits

January 1st Outfit
I wore this outfit for my favorite New Years tradition: high tea at a local hotel!

January 2nd Outfit
I wore this outfit for running errands...like getting a shot! Ugh. Taking advantage of being able to get by without tights before the single digits temperatures set in.

Books I Read in 2013

Anna Karenina by Leo Tolstoy
Emma by Jane Austen (reread)
The Style Strategy by Nina Garcia
Victoria Rebels by Carolyn Meyer
The Heiresses by Allison Rushby
The Truth About Style by Stacy London
The Carrie Diaries by Candace Bushnell
I Feel Bad About My Neck by Nora Ephron
Austenland by Shannon Hale
Summer at Tiffany's by Marjorie Hart
Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf
Let It Snow by John Green, Maureen Johnson, and Lauren Myracle

I didn't get to read as much as I used to this year due to a stressful end of senior year (5 AP classes, a leading role in my school play, graduation to deal with, a solo in my dance recital), a chaotic summer of two weeks in London plus a wedding plus a beach trip with friends plus prepping for moving in at university, and my first semester of university. However, I ventured into the realm of fashion books and memoirs, read Anna Karenina (no small feat especially considering I read it in under two weeks), and discovered why people love "chick lit." Overall, not a bad year for reading, but I'm hoping to improve and read more in 2014.

I've Found My Soulmate

I have found my soulmate. I'd like to say that I'm joking, but I'm truly not. If it were possible to marry a bag, I would marry this one.

This bag and I were made for each other.

Image from the Michael Kors website
It's the MICHAEL Michael Kors Jet Set (my favorite collection!) Top-Zip Saffiano Tote and it costs $248. It comes in many colors, but I chose this wonderfully versatile caramel color. There are many pockets to hold things (including a large zip pocket that is perfect for holding things that you don't want to be visible when you open your bag like medications or gum and a pocket that is the perfect fit for an iPhone to slip into) and while it is a medium sized bag, it actually holds quite a bit! I haven't tested it yet, but I think an iPad would fit inside. My favorite thing about the bag is actually the top zipper which is the smoothest thing I've ever done; it's like a knife cutting through hot butter! I love that the bag didn't feel out of place when I took it to the movies tonight wearing shorts and a striped top (and a large box of Junior Mints fit inside!), but it's also pretty enough to bring tomorrow to the bridal luncheon I'm attending.

I've been lusting after this bag for the past sixth months and my parents and sister surprised me by buying it for me as a going-away-to-college gift. And I am absolutely smitten :)

Recent Purchases

Hello again! I know it's been far too long since I've posted. So I thought that I would share with you some recent purchases that I'm really loving right now. :) (I know that my chest of drawers isn't the best background, but it's the best I could do! I'm in the middle of finally organizing my room after moving in November...school kind of stole my life!).

 Nordstrom's Shirt, $49
(perfect for tying over a skirt or wearing as a tunic with leggings!)

Nordstrom's Skirt (no longer available), featured in "Sunday at the Club"
Madewell Sweater, $69.50
(expensive, but totally worth it...it's so soft!)

Hope everyone's having a good week so far! :) Have you bought something recently that you're in love with?

Sunday at the Club

Top: Target (Similar), Skirt: Halogen at Nordstrom's, Shoes: Nine West, Watch: Nordstrom's, Necklace: Alex Woo, Bag: Dooney & Bourke (stolen from my mum's closet)

I graduated high school on Friday (does this mean I have to be a responsible adult now?) so my grandparents are in town. We went to Sunday brunch at the country club this morning -- yes, the country club is the only kind of club I've ever been to.

I've had this Target top for a while and I thought it would really pop with this new skirt from Nordstrom's (I love sales!). These Nine West shoes were purchased for graduation and my Alex Woo N necklace (the same one seen on The Carrie Diaries!) was my graduation present, which I'm absolutely in love with and have been wearing with everything.

In any case, I'm very excited about this summer because I'm going to have a lot more free time to read magazines and blogs and to work on my very own blog. In addition to this, I'm going to try to figure out how to use my mum's nice camera and tripod so she doesn't have to continue taking my pictures for me.

Intro

Hi world! I'm Nicole. Because I have a list of fashion blogs that I read daily that about a mile long and the stack of fashion magazines beside my bed is forever threatening to fall over, I thought that maybe that was a good enough reason to attempt to start a fashion blog myself.

I'm an American who is in her last year of high school and will be attending university next year to study history, communications, and French. I'm not sure yet if I'd like to pursue a future in the magazine or fashion industry but the knowledge of how to run a blog would probably help with any career.

In any case, I'm not sure exactly what will be featured on this blog yet. My outfits, highlights from online collections, thoughts on fashion shows or magazines...we'll just wait and see. If you happen to read this, then please comment and let me know what you think!
